Anything interesting happening lately? Empty Anything interesting happening lately?

We live in Doha and it is quite a boring place unless you do some interesting stuff (but then there are not that many interesting things to do, unless you can afford the local pass time - 'recreational shopping' Exclamation )

Due to some nice friends we recently celebrated 'Canadian Thanksgiving', and stuffed ourselves to the hilt with really excellent cuisine. We even had some left-overs for the next day and it was like having the same party all over again!

The weather is also improving as Winter approaches. That will allow us a little bit more freedom with outside activities and we are looking forward to sitting outside next to a barbecue with a nice sheesha, wine and good company.

What are you keeping yourself busy with? Question

Anything interesting happening lately? Empty My new iMac

Post by VatiKaki 16th May 2010, 12:23

Almost two years since starting this forum and nothing interesting is happening anywhere! I will just have to bore you some more with our life in Doha. Today we had mud-rain. It is when you have a thunderstorm during a sand storm. Quite nice... not! The cars will be filthy tonight, which means I will have to wash them again, and it is getting really hot outside (as in 40+) and not much cooler at night!

Got myself an iMac 27" because my PC would not stop its no-reason no-logic hanging. Bless Microsoft... I did manage to make the Mac hang twice already (give me anything and I will break it in no time! Anything interesting happening lately? Bom ). The first time was with the Microsoft (for Mac) email application - no surprises there, and the second time I guess I was just clicking on too many things at the same time. The 27" LED screen is fantastic - it can do 1080i HD and has an awesome resolution of 2560x1440. Photographs display absolutely superb. I downloaded a 30-day eval of Photoshop CS5 and it runs like a charm on the quad-core CPU. It has 4GB ram and a 1TB hard disk. I may upgrade the ram to 8GB when I venture into video editing - but not quite there yet.

Still nothing happening out there?
